Mother's Day Chaos For President's Gifts (Paid For By Taxpayer)

Continuing in the Balaguer tradition, the President invited poor mothers to line up outside his home for cash handouts on Mother's Day. Some, babes in arms, started the line the night before. The first 50 were given envelopes with RD$3000 but........these ran out. Officials returned with envelopes with RD$1000 but..........these ran out. Finally they appeared with envelopes with RD$500 and recipients were annoyed they received the runt of the offerings. Naturally, chaos ensued.
